Beginning Monday, February 6, 2006, The Alpha Course night will be expanded to include two new electives - A Survey of the Bible and S.H.A.P.E. These classes are being added to our Alpha Course Night to better equip you with Bible knowledge and to help you identify the special gifts that God has given you to use in Life.

The evening starts with a light dinner at 6:30 p.m. and will end by 9:00 p.m. There will be a short time of Worship in the Worship Center before classes begin. Dinner costs $4 per person each night. Childcare is available if previously arranged.

1. Alpha
Alpha is an opportunity to ask and explore the BIG questions about God, Jesus and the Christian faith in a fun, friendly and nonjudgmental atmosphere. It's a place to connect with others who are asking questions too. It's even for Christians who just want to "brush up" on the core beliefs of their faith. Each class begins with a video presentation of Nickey Gumbel speaking on a topic basic to the Christian faith. After a short
break, small groups of about 10 - 12 individuals will meet for discussion of the topic for the evening. The accompanying Study guide costs $5.

To offer Christ to people outside our walls.
 
2. S.H.A.P.E.
S.H.A.P.E. stands for:Spiritual Gifts - Heart - Abilities - Personality - Experience. Discover what your "S.H.A.P.E." is and who God made you to be. This course was developed by Rick Warren of Saddleback Church and is designed to "prepare God's people for works of ministry, so the body of Christ may be built up." - Ephesians 4:12. This class is open to any adult or older teen who wants to serve in or develop a ministry at ARCC. Supply cost is $5.
     
3. A Survey of the Bible
Pastor Richard Reimer will facilitate a two semester course covering 130 key texts in the Old and New Testaments. This will provide an overview of the entire Bible using the book "The Bible in Time" by Stephen H. Travis. The cost of the book is $14.
